Police say no one was badly hurt after two vehicles collided around 10 a.m. Tuesday at the \u201cMcNugget\u201d intersection of Egan Drive and Glacier Highway near McDonald\u2019s and the Nugget Mall.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn talking to witnesses at the scene, the officers were able to determine that there was a 2015 Buick LaCrosse that was heading inbound on Egan Drive, and it failed to stop at the red light at the intersection,\u201d Juneau Police Department spokesman Lt. David Campbell said by phone. \u201cIt ended up colliding with a 2009 Hummer H3 that was turning left from Egan Drive outbound onto Glacier Highway.\u201d<\/p>\n
JPD identified the driver of the Buick as 66-year-old Juneau resident Beth A. Crile. An ambulance transported her to Bartlett Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. JPD cited Crile for failure to stop for a steady red light. <\/p>\n
The driver of the Hummer was identified as a 17-year-old female Juneau resident, whose name was not released.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe got reports that she had some minor injuries, but she was not transported to BRH,\u201d Campbell said.<\/p>\n
There were no passengers in either of the vehicles. Alcohol was not a factor in the collision, Campbell said.<\/p>\n
The Buick and Hummer were towed from the scene. Campbell did not know the total cost of damages. <\/p>\n
Egan Drive inbound was closed for approximately 15 minutes until the vehicles were removed. Both JPD (@JuneauPD) and the Alaska Department of Transportation (@AK511_Southeast) had tweeted out scant information on the accident and the road closure as it was happening.<\/p>\n
