The state\u2019s top lobbyist in Washington, D.C. and two of his aides are being fired.<\/p>\n
The Alaska Dispatch News reported Tuesday that Kip Knudson, director of state and federal relations for the governor\u2019s office, has 30 days to find a new job.<\/p>\n
Knudson\u2019s associate directors, Nathan Butzlaff and Thomas Crafford, are also seeking new jobs. A research analyst will be kept on staff. <\/p>\n
Knudson was appointed to the lobbying job in 2011 by Gov. Sean Parnell and is the best-paid member of the governor\u2019s staff, earning $207,000 salary per year.<\/p>\n
Knudson\u2019s replacement is expected to be named this week.<\/p>\n
The chief lobbyist\u2019s job is to represent the state\u2019s interest in the House and Senate as well as with federal agencies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
