Juneau-Douglas High School junior Mia Ruffin is seeded first in the girl\u2019s 100 yard breaststroke after the preliminary swims at the 2015 Alaska School Activities Association First National Bank Alaska Swim\/Dive State Championships.<\/p>\n

Ruffin posted a 1:07.34 on Friday to lead a group of Southeast swimmers including Sitka\u2019s Skylar Moore at third (1:09.46) and Whitney McArthur fifth (1:09.86). Ruffin also earned a second seed in the girl\u2019s 200 IM with 2:11.72, four-tenths of a second out of first. <\/p>\n

Thunder Mountain freshman Bergen Davis qualified as the third seed in the boy\u2019s 200 IM in 2:01.12 and JDHS\u2019 Aidan Seid got the eighth spot with 2:04.96. Davis also qualified fifth in the boy\u2019s 100 breast with 1:01.44 and Ketchikan\u2019s Chance Rhein was sixth in 1:02.19.<\/p>\n

JDHS\u2019 junior Gabi Kito qualifed for the Saturday finals with a 2:00.26 for fourth in the girl\u2019s 200 freestyle and Sitka\u2019s Skylar Moore is third with 1:58.08. Sitka\u2019s Will Pate qualifed for finals in the boys 200 free with a 1:45.28, earning a second seed. Thunder Mountain\u2019s Spencer Holt got the eighth seed with a 1:48.36. Kito also qualified as the fifth seed in the girl\u2019s 100 fly in 1:01.21 and Holt got a fourth seed in the boy\u2019s 100 fly with 53.42. Pate has the top seed in the boy\u2019s 500 free with 4:45.41.<\/p>\n

JDHS\u2019 Riley Walsh swam a 56.67 for the eighth seed in the girl\u2019s 100 free. Sitka\u2019s Jessica Davis got the second seed with a 53.75. Davis also has the second seed in the 100 back with 59.58 and JDHS\u2019 Eliza Chappell is third in 1:01.32. JDHS\u2019 Seid has the boy\u2019s sixth seed while Sitka\u2019s Brady Harang has the fourth.<\/p>\n

Ketchikan\u2019s Kiera O\u2019Brien qualified for a sixth seed in the girl\u2019s 50 free and Petersburg\u2019s Max Snelders a fifth seed in the boy\u2019s 50 free. O\u2019Brien also earned a fifth seed in the 500 free.<\/p>\n

The finals begin Saturday at 1 p.m. in Anchorage\u2019s Bartlett High School pool.<\/p>\n
