{"id":29672,"date":"2017-09-21T02:22:51","date_gmt":"2017-09-21T09:22:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spijue.wpengine.com\/news\/applications-being-accepted-for-lindh-scholarship\/"},"modified":"2017-09-21T02:22:51","modified_gmt":"2017-09-21T09:22:51","slug":"applications-being-accepted-for-lindh-scholarship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/sports\/applications-being-accepted-for-lindh-scholarship\/","title":{"rendered":"Applications being accepted for Lindh scholarship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Hilary Lindh Scholarship is now accepting student applicants for the upcoming ski season. <\/p>\n<p>Four scholarship recipients will receive a 2017-18 Eaglecrest season pass in honor of the hard work and dedication of Lindh to downhill skiing.<\/p>\n<p>The Eaglecrest Board of Directors established the scholarship program in 1992 in recognition of Lindh&rsquo;s 1992 Olympic silver medal in the downhill event.<\/p>\n<p>There are two different applications for students: one for those enrolled in kindergarten through fourth grade and one for fifth through 12th graders. One boy and one girl will be chosen from each age group.<\/p>\n<p>The selection committee will judge applicants based on three main criteria: athletic ability, sportsmanship and scholastic achievement. The scholarship is open to Juneau students with an interest in skiing and snowboarding. Students must also have earned at least a C average over the previous school year.<\/p>\n<p>Applications can be found online at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.skijuneau.com\/lindh.php\" target=\"_blank\">www.skijuneau.com\/lindh.php<\/a>. The application deadline is Monday, Oct. 30.
