The Alaska State Historical Records Advisory Board (ASHRAB) is seeking nominations for a Certificate Archival of Excellence Award. This award recognizes and publicizes excellence by members of the public, researchers, archivists, institutions, organizations, or agencies for work related to archives. During October 2017 the ASHRAB will consider outstanding projects that merit a Certificate of Archival Excellence Award. Categories under consideration include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Education with use of historical records<\/p>\n
\u2022 Digitization or website showcasing historical records<\/p>\n
\u2022 Documentary project<\/p>\n
\u2022 Exhibit or public event<\/p>\n
\u2022 Milestone projects (motion picture film preservation, etc.)<\/p>\n
\u2022 Innovative projects (something new and trailblazing)<\/p>\n
\u2022 Rescue event (endangered records preserved)<\/p>\n
The ASHRAB solicits and encourages submittals of award nominations for significant projects that have been accomplished. Individuals, institutions (libraries, historical societies, museums), agencies (local, state, federal), and organizations (Red Cross, Rotary, business groups) are encouraged to submit nominations to the State Archivist by email or mail, describing and documenting the individual\u2019s or group\u2019s significant contribution. No self-nominations will be accepted. To make a nomination, please send a one to two-page written nomination to the State Archivist by Oct. 16.<\/p>\n
The award winner(s) will be announced in November 2017. The winning recipient(s) will receive public acknowledgement and a certificate of award.<\/p>\n
