Today I cry! I cry for the world

I cry for myself, my family, my friends and those I do not know.

Today I cry! I cry because we are given the gift of language but we use words of hate against each other.

Today I cry! I cry because we have our religions, beliefs and our love of them. Yet we use our love to judge, terrorize and kill each other.

Today I cry! I cry because we are given the gift of thought and reason. Yet we use it to justify unloving acts against one another.

Today I cry! I cry for I am a part of this world.

Today I cry! I cry because I know better.

Today I cry! I cry because I desire a world that uses the gift of language in a loving way. A world in which our love of religion and beliefs only creates more love. A world in which thought and reason are used to create loving solutions.

Today I cry! I cry tears of joy for the vision of this world and the vision of my contribution towards the unfolding of it.

Today I smile!
