{"id":31917,"date":"2016-08-25T08:01:54","date_gmt":"2016-08-25T15:01:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spijue.wpengine.com\/news\/man-sought-on-manslaughter-charge-surrenders-to-police\/"},"modified":"2016-08-25T08:01:54","modified_gmt":"2016-08-25T15:01:54","slug":"man-sought-on-manslaughter-charge-surrenders-to-police","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/man-sought-on-manslaughter-charge-surrenders-to-police\/","title":{"rendered":"Man sought on manslaughter charge surrenders to police"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>ANCHORAGE \u2014<\/strong> A man sought by Anchorage police on a manslaughter charge has turned himself in.<\/p>\n<p>Anchorage television station KTUU reported 19-year-old Kuach Kuach surrendered Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>He is charged in the Aug. 5 death of 19-year-old Chaduer Chuol.<\/p>\n<p>Police say Chuol and Kuach, traveling in a car that morning, may have been involved in a shootout with a dark-colored pickup while westbound on east Fifth Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>Kuach suffered a gunshot wound to the arm.<\/p>\n<p>Chuol was driving. The car crashed head-on into a pickup heading east. Chuol was ejected and he died at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>Police found bullet holes in the car and evidence that shots had been fired from inside the car.<\/p>\n<p>Police recovered guns and shell casings after the fatal crash.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ANCHORAGE \u2014 A man sought by Anchorage police on a manslaughter charge has turned himself in.
