JUNEAU \u2014<\/strong> Each week throughout the summer, the Juneau Public Libraries, in collaboration with the Friends of the Juneau Public Libraries and local businesses, award young readers various prizes for writing book reviews about their favorite summer reads. During the second week of this fun Summer Reading Program activity, the Juneau Public Libraries received 39 different book reviews from 26 different young readers under the age of 18. Here is a summary of the top book reviews from this week\u2019s winners:<\/p>\n

From the Downtown Library:<\/p>\n

\u201cMythologies Monsters\u201d by John Malam: \u201cOne fascinating part of this book is the imagining that you have to do.\u201d \u2014 Siena Farr, age 7<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Frog Princess\u201d by Elizabeth Isele: \u201cOne fascinating part of this book that there is a happy ending. An evil looking witch helped him find his wife. I liked it that she was a beautiful princess under a spell and not really a frog.\u201d \u2014 Jasmine Rettinger, age 6.<\/p>\n

\u201cSuperior Iron-Man: Infamous\u201d by Tom Taylor: \u201cOne fascinating part of this book is when Tony Stark gives Daredevil his sight back.\u201d \u2014 Krishna Bathija, age 11.<\/p>\n

From the Douglas Library:<\/p>\n

\u201cMolly Learns a Lesson\u201d by Valerie Tripp: \u201cOne fascinating part of this book is that Molly hid under the chair from Alison so her secret project could stay a secret.\u201d \u2014 Sarah Anderson, age 5.<\/p>\n

\u201cIron Hans\u201d by Stephen Mitchell: \u201cOne fascinating part of this book is when the prince\u2019s hair fell in the spring and it turned to gold.\u201d \u2014 Tal Sheleg, age 8.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am Going\u201d by Mo Willems: \u201cOne fascinating part of this book is when they have a BIG lunch and it\u2019s so funee.\u201d \u2014 Evan Converse, age 6.<\/p>\n

From the Mendenhall Valley Library:<\/p>\n

\u201cA Little Prairie House\u201d (adapted from the Little house books) by Laura Ingalls Wilder: \u201cOne fascinating part of this book is that Laura\u2019s family built a house on the prairie.\u201d \u2014 Anna Williams, age 7.<\/p>\n

\u201cIvy and Bean\u201d by Annie Barrows: \u201cOne fascinating part of this book is that Ivy and Bean are best friends but they both like different things.\u201d \u2014 Marley Wedster, age 8.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Red Pyramid\u201d by Rick Riordan: \u201cOne fascinating part of this book is the references to Egyptian mythology in the story.\u201d \u2014 Tony Rivera, age 15.<\/p>\n
