The court decided that the regulations violate a state law that governs teacher layoffs, effectively overturning the Board of Education\u2019s decision. <\/p>\n<p>On the political side, U.S. Congressman Don Young had been given $160,000 thus far by political action groups for his re-election bid. The campaign contributions, which was decidedly more than all of the contributions given to his opponents, showed his lead for state representative.<\/p>\n<p>A Douglas resident\u2019s guide dog was killed in a hit-and-run accident.
