Alaskans aren\u2019t known for choosing the easy road.<\/p>\n
We wouldn\u2019t live here if the goal was to go through life on the path with the fewest obstacles.<\/p>\n
U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, has embodied this by standing up to her Republican colleagues and doing what she campaigned on \u2014 protecting the interests of Alaskans. Thank you, Murkowski for showing the whole country what it means to be an Alaskan \u2014 to do the right thing even when it\u2019s hard.<\/p>\n
I\u2019m proud to come from a state where people look out for each other and work together to build a stronger future.<\/p>\n
Murkowski is an excellent role model for young Alaskans and young women, demonstrating what a strong, female leader who stands by her convictions can achieve. I applaud her for publicly standing with Planned Parenthood and refusing to give in to the Senate leadership who want to harm our state.<\/p>\n
