The Juneau Chamber of Commerce will host a business transition forum today at the 360 studio at KTOO. The forum and Q&A will take place from 2-4 p.m. with a networking session following from 4-6 p.m. Appetizers and refreshments will be provided for the free event.<\/p>\n
Panelists from local legal, tax, brokerage and finance firms will be present to discuss a range of topics under the heading \u201cWhat\u2019s next for your business?\u201d with a Q&A session following the forum.<\/p>\n
Juneau Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Craig Dahl will moderate the forum. The event is organized by Baxter, Bruce & Sullivan; Transition 360; Elgee, Rehfeld & Mertz and AGP Wealth Advisors.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve assembled a panel of experts from the area, people who have a whole lot of experience in the community. The forum is open and we don\u2019t know exactly what topics will come up,\u201d Marketing Manager for AGP Wealth Advisors Ryen Elves said, adding that retiring as a small business owner will be a topic.<\/p>\n
\u201cSomething like 80 percent of all businesses are owned by baby boomers and as they start to retire, some are wondering what the future of their business will look like. We\u2019re having a conversation around what their different options might be and having those experts around to answer questions from a tax perspective and legal perspective.\u201d<\/p>\n
