The Alaska Judicial Council recommends that Alaskans vote \u201cyes\u201d to retain 33 judges eligible to appear on the ballot in 2016.<\/p>\n
The Council reviews judges\u2019 performances, and its recommendations are based on a review compiled for Alaskan voters\u2019 information as they decide in the general election on Nov. 8 whether judges should serve another term in office.<\/p>\n
To help voters make informed decisions about judges on the ballot, the Alaska Judicial Council reviewed detailed performance information about each of the judges standing for retention. The Council evaluated each judge\u2019s legal ability, impartiality and fairness, integrity, temperament, diligence, and overall performance, including judgment and ethical conduct.<\/p>\n
Based on the results of these evaluations, the six appointed members of the Alaska Judicial Council unanimously make the following \u201cyes\u201d recommendations for the following Supreme Court, Court of Appeals and Juneau justices, respectively: Justices Joel H. Bolger and Peter J. Maassen; Judge Marjorie K. Allard; and Justices Philip M. Pallenberg and Thomas Nave.<\/p>\n
