David Campbell told the Empire on Friday afternoon that the Alaska State Medical Examiner\u2019s Office in Anchorage confirmed the dead man was 56-year-old Juneau resident John Ross Knudson. His next of kin have been notified.<\/p>\n<p>The cause of death is still under investigation by the medical examiner\u2019s office, Campbell said. A preliminary report indicated there wasn\u2019t any evidence of trauma, police said.<\/p>\n<p>Two 23-year-old duck hunters found Knudson\u2019s body in the wetlands near Sunny Point early Wednesday morning on the first day of the hunting season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Juneau police have identified the man whose body was found in the Mendenhall Wetlands earlier this week.
