The class, which runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., teaches the basics of CPR and also how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Those who complete the class will earn an American Red Cross certification that lasts for two years.<\/p>\n<p>Community members can register at the <a href=\"https:\/\/beta.juneau.org\/parks-recreation\/juneau-pools\/red-cross-courses\" target=\"_blank\">Parks and Recreation website<\/a> by clicking on the tab labeled &ldquo;Lessons &amp; Programs&rdquo; and scrolling down to &ldquo;Red Cross Courses.<\/p>\n<p>The class costs $150, with an option to pay $25 for materials. After Aug. 19, the next class is Sept. 16, and classes will continue into the winter. With advanced notice, the Aquatics Division can set up a class for groups or organizations of at least five people who want to have their own class.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In a few short hours, Juneauites can learn how to save a life.
