{"id":34487,"date":"2016-09-23T01:00:02","date_gmt":"2016-09-23T08:00:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spijue.wpengine.com\/news\/electrical-glitch-brings-fire-crews-to-sob\/"},"modified":"2016-09-23T01:00:02","modified_gmt":"2016-09-23T08:00:02","slug":"electrical-glitch-brings-fire-crews-to-sob","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/electrical-glitch-brings-fire-crews-to-sob\/","title":{"rendered":"Electrical glitch brings fire crews to SOB"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Capital City Fire\/Rescue responded Wednesday night to a smoke alarm in the State Office Building downtown triggered by an overworked electrical outlet.<\/p>\n<p>CCFR Fire Marshal Dan Jager said in a phone interview Thursday that emergency crews searched the ninth floor of the building and found a microwave and refrigerator plugged into a single power strip, which was most likely the cause of some smoke and an odor of fire.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust unplugging everything,\u201d was the solution, Jager said.<\/p>\n<p>All CCFR stations responded to the incident, with 21 CCFR personnel in total either working the scene or standing by as backup at stations across town, Jager said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA building that size &#8230; it takes a lot of people to respond,\u201d Jager said. He described the situation overall as \u201crelatively minor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There was no other damage to the floor.
