Republican gubernatorial candidate Mike Dunleavy will host a town hall discussion<\/a> on crime and public safety from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday night at the Mendenhall Public Library.<\/p>\n The discussion will take place in the library’s meeting room and is one of a series of events featuring the former state senator, who will be in town through the end of the week.<\/p>\n At noon Thursday, Dunleavy will appear alongside Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mark Begich and incumbent independent Gov. Bill Walker at a forum hosted in Centennial Hall by the Juneau Chamber of Commerce<\/a>.<\/p>\n The forum will be mediated by KINY-AM reporter Pete Carran, and tickets are $25 each. The cost includes lunch.<\/p>\n At 5 p.m., Dunleavy will appear at the Rie Munoz Gallery, 2101 Jordan Ave., for a fundraiser benefitting his campaign and that of Republican lieutenant governor candidate Kevin Meyer.<\/p>\n Dunleavy is among many local and statewide candidates holding events in Juneau this week:<\/p>\n ^<\/span><\/p>\n Begich fundraiser, too<\/span><\/p>\n At the same time as Dunleavy’s fundraiser, Begich will appear at one of his own. An event<\/a> benefiting Begich and Democratic lieutenant governor candidate Debra Call will take place 5:30-7:30 p.m. at 1980 Hughes Way.<\/p>\n The event listing indicates that all donations are welcome but suggests a donation of $250.<\/p>\n ^<\/span><\/p>\n Walker campaign brings back bagels<\/span><\/p>\n Walker’s gubernatorial campaign is showcasing the return of Silverbow Bagels for one night only as a hook for its latest fundraiser. The fundraiser, which runs 5-7 p.m. Friday, will take place at the 2nd Street home of Ken Alper and Jill Ramiel, owners of the Silverbow Inn and the former Silverbow Bakery.<\/p>\n ^<\/span><\/p>\n Cheers to Change<\/span><\/p>\n Garrett Schoenberger, District 2 candidate for the City and Borough of Juneau Assembly, is hosting a meet and greet<\/a> at 5 p.m. Thursday in Louie’s Douglas Inn.<\/p>\n The event invites Juneau residents to share snacks and conversation while talking about a collective future for Juneau.<\/p>\n ^<\/span><\/p>\n Pre-Klondike carb load<\/span><\/p>\n Carole Triem, areawide candidate for the CBJ Assembly, is hosting a “pre-Klondike carb load” fundraiser<\/a> at 5-7 p.m. Thursday at 9343 Betty Court.<\/p>\n The fundraiser follows the theme of the annual Klondike Road Relay<\/a>, which takes place this weekend between Skagway and Whitehorse.<\/p>\n ^<\/span><\/p>\n Weldon hosting meet-n-greet<\/span><\/p>\n Beth Weldon, candidate for Juneau Mayor, is hosting a meet and greet at 7 p.m. Thursday<\/a> at Squirez, the bar in Auke Bay.
