Juneau police are asking the public for help catching a home burglar who broke into a Lemon Creek area residence last week and stole firearms, a wedding ring and various other jewelry.<\/p>\n
Police said the suspect entered a home in the 5900 block of Churchill Way \u2014 through a back bedroom window that was broken \u2014 sometime during the evening of Nov. 2, according to a Juneau Police Department \u2018Crime of the Week\u2019 press release. No one was home at the time, JPD Lt. Kris Sell said.<\/p>\n
The Tuesday press release states the burglar made off with two handguns: a Ruger Redhawk .357 in stainless steel, and a .45 caliber Glock model 21. The suspect attempted to take a third handgun, but police said it was found in the fence slats behind the residence, apparently where the suspect fled the scene.<\/p>\n
JPD said the victims also reported several pieces of jewelry missing, including a three karat diamond wedding ring, and a matching sapphire earrings and necklace set. JPD released a picture of a bracelet that matched the set to help the public find the earrings and necklace. The bracelet had been left behind at the home.<\/p>\n
