“In Attla’s Tracks” follows 81-year-old Attla, who is recognized by many as the greatest sprint sled dog racer of the 20th century, as he trains and readies his grand nephew, Joe Bifelt, to compete in the world’s largest dogsled sprint race. Yet, as the months pass, an unexpected development causes young Bifelt to re-evaluate what it means to be a champion. The film, which was nominated for an award by the International Documentary Association, was directed by Catharine Axley, who will be on hand to introduce the film, do some Q&A, and talk about Attla, a feature-length documentary about George Attla that she is currently working on.
