The Stikine River Birding Festival celebrates the spring arrival of migratory birds, including hundreds of thousands of shorebirds to the Stikine River Delta. The nineteenth year of this Wrangell festival takes place April 28-May 1.<\/p>\n
Activities for both birders and non-birders are offered during the four-day celebration. This year\u2019s highlights include family activities, photo and art competitions, an arts and crafts fair, birding excursions and guest speakers. Marlene Wagner from Simon Fraser University will present \u201cFish Flying the in the Forest: How Salmon Nourish our Songbirds\u201d to share her research on ocean and forest food webs. New events for this year include an evening of storytelling and poetry hosted by local writer Vivian Faith Prescott.<\/p>\n
