The Alliance for the Support of American Legion Baseball in Alaska is hosting the ninth annual Professional Baseball Clinic Nov. 30-Dec. 2 at West Anchorage High School.<\/p>\n
Houston Astros coaches Brent Strom and Ralph Dickenson will conduct the camp, which is open to players 9 to 18. Strom will focus on mechanics, repetition, training and pitch development while Dickenson will teach hitting skills.<\/p>\n
Strom coached the 2011 World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals before doing it all over again with the Astros last year. Dickenson has been a professional hitting coach in the minor and major leagues for over 20 years. The camp costs $95 for American Legion players and $125 for all other high schoolers who register before Nov. 25. The registration for youth ages 9-13 is $75 before Nov. 25.<\/p>\n
