Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium will hold the first Reclaim Own And Renew (ROAR) Women’s Conference Jan. 11 and 12, 2019.

ROAR is first of what SEARHC hopes will be many annual ROAR Women’s Conferences in the region.

This year’s keynote speaker is national child safety advocate and women’s empowerment speaker, Elizabeth Smart.

Smart first entered the public’s consciousness when she was abducted from her Salt Lake City, Utah home in 2002 as a 14-year-old girl and then rescued nine months later.

SEARHC also invited women from the organization and the Juneau community to discuss topics that often challenge women. Topics include self-image and self-worth, balancing work and family life, seasons of a woman’s life, nutrition and exercise, self-care, vision for the future and faith — the spiritual woman.

The conference for women will be at the Centennial Hall Convention Center, 101 Egan Drive, beginning Friday, Jan. 11 from 6:30-8:30 p.m., and Saturday, Jan. 12, from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

The cost is $69 per person by Dec. 31 or $79 per person beginning Jan. 1, 2019.

Participants must be at least 16 years old to attend.

Registration information is available at searhc.org/ROAR. For more information contact conference chair, Sherry Patterson at ROAR@searhc.org or call (907)463-4000.
