(John) Dennis O’Day of Colorado Springs, Colorado, died on Nov. 1, 2018. He was 79.<\/p>\n
O’Day was born on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada and soon after moved to Juneau. He graduated from Capital High School in 1957. From an early age, he was a ham operator (KL7AQU) and was an avid sport fisherman. He worked mainly in the communications field, including Juneau radio and TV stations.<\/p>\n
O’Day is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ginette O’Day (Maclure); son, Sean (Melissa) O’Day of Colorado Springs; daughter, Shirley (Michael) Schaeffer of Meridian, Idaho; grandchildren, Cale O’Day of Colorado Springs, Tyler (Breanna) White of Meridian, Kayla (Casey) Coller of Meridian, Elizabeth White of Caldwell, Idaho; and six great-grandchildren living around Meridian. He is also survived by his sister Eileen (Tim) Buchanan of Juneau.<\/p>\n
O’Day is preceded in death by his parents, Timothy and Anna (Teusz) O’Day.<\/p>\n
