Expect some bopping wolverines Saturday.<\/p>\n
Dzantik’i Heeni Middle School will be the site of a fundraiser dinner for the school’s Jazz Band 6-8 p.m., Feb. 2. In addition to dinner, the event will include performances from local musicians including Rob Cohen, Dave Hunsaker, Tom Locher, Alyssa Fischer and more.<\/p>\n
Tickets for the event are available online through JAHC.org<\/a>. They cost $20 for adults or $10 for those 13 and younger. The proceeds will go toward helping the after-school music club travel.<\/p>\n “It’s to bring our middle school jazz band to the Sitka Jazz <\/a>Festival<\/a>,” said band teacher Mike Bucy. “We have to raise money to go.”<\/p>\n The festival is Feb. 7-9 and features both performances and clinics, Bucy said.<\/p>\n The plan is for members of the after-school club to fly to Sitka and take the ferry back to Juneau.
