Just a few weeks after a rescue on Mendenhall Lake, Juneau’s fire department is putting on a demonstration this weekend about being safe on the ice.<\/p>\n
Capital City Fire\/Rescue is doing the presentation at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center. The presentation will cover ice safety, self-rescue and how to rescue others if they fall through the ice. The event will begin with a lecture at the auditorium in the visitor center, and if there is ice on Mendenhall Lake, there will be a demonstration of an ice rescue.<\/p>\n
They will talk in particular about a rescue that happened on the lake Jan. 6<\/a>.
