The Juneau Trail and Road Runners released the 2019 race calendar last month at its annual awards banquet.

A total of 27 runs are scheduled between March and November, with races falling on almost every Saturday during that time. The next run, the Flanagan’s Run at the Douglas Fire Hall, is in three weeks. Participants will be able to choose between a 1-mile and 5-kilometer race.

There will also be several relays offered in addition to the 5Ks. The five-person, 16-mile Seacoast Relay starts from the University of Alaska Southeast and ends at Eagle Beach. The Klondike Road Relay, which spans the highway between Skagway and Whitehorse, is over 100 miles long and accepts up to 10 people per team.

The Run 4 the Rock is one of the new additions to the calendar and benefits the Eldred Rock Lighthouse Preservation Association, a nonprofit working to restore Eldred Rock Lighthouse. The run will have three different distances, including a 10K, and some runners will get to sound a foghorn mid race.
