Krag Campbell confirmed via text message Tuesday afternoon that there was a death, and that witnesses saw someone jump off the bridge. <a href=\"https:\/\/beta.juneau.org\/police\/jpd-psa-individual-view\/entry\/42862\" target=\"_blank\">In a press release<\/a> at 5 p.m. Tuesday, JPD identified the man as Brian Earl Lupro, after next of kin had been notified.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<p>JPD, Capital City Fire\/Rescue, and the U.S. Coast Guard all responded to the scene after a call came in at 2:31 p.m. The call came from a person who was driving over the bridge and saw a man standing on the railing, according to the JPD release. The driver then lost sight of the man and went to go check, the release states. When the person went back to check, they saw the man on the ground about 100 feet below the bridge near the tide line, police say.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<p>Authorities located Lupro, and CCFR performed CPR and declared him dead on scene, Etheridge said. Witnesses reported Lupro was alone at the time, Campbell said.
