{"id":45533,"date":"2019-03-28T08:11:00","date_gmt":"2019-03-28T16:11:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/breaking-ccfr-responds-to-house-fire-on-n-douglas\/"},"modified":"2019-03-29T14:25:52","modified_gmt":"2019-03-29T22:25:52","slug":"breaking-ccfr-responds-to-house-fire-on-n-douglas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/breaking-ccfr-responds-to-house-fire-on-n-douglas\/","title":{"rendered":"Update: Occupants escape safely from house fire"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A two-story home in the 5600 block of North Douglas Highway caught fire and was fully engulfed in flames on Thursday, but the home&rsquo;s two occupants were able to escape safely, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"House Fire on North Douglas\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/LtPoXNhjZf0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>There were no injuries when Capital City Fire\/Rescue firefighters arrived on scene at about 10:45 a.m., though the occupants were distraught, said CCFR Fire Marshal Dan Jager.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;They were already out when we got here,&rdquo; Jager told the Empire on scene, adding, &ldquo;They&rsquo;re OK, obviously distraught, pretty traumatic event, so the Red Cross is here taking care of whatever needs they have.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The blaze was extinguished as of 3 p.m. Thursday. The house is insured, Jager said.<\/p>\n<p>Red Cross was on scene, helping and attending to the home&rsquo;s occupants.
