Over $850 was raised for Hoonah&rsquo;s Project Playground, a planned playground at Hoonah School.<\/p>\n<p>Twenty-nine runners turned out and ran 1.7 miles, from Icy Strait Point to Icy Strait Brewery.<\/p>\n<p>Wilbur Skeek placed first, Michael Croasmun second and Nick Hughes third. Hoonah Travel Adventures paid the $10 entry fees and Icy Strait Brewing matched any donations made at the brewery and provided free beer to participants.<\/p>\n<p>Hoonah&rsquo;s Project Playground plans to install a swing set and lay dirt for the rest of the playground this year, Hoonah Travel Adventures&rsquo; Angie Wrightson said in an interview with the Empire on Wednesday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The first Hunatics &mdash; Only Fools Run at Midnight fundraiser took place last Friday.
