A 33-year-old Juneau man was arrested early Tuesday morning for allegedly strangling a woman in a domestic violence related case, police said.<\/p>\n
The Juneau Police Department said in a release that Brody Flint was arrested for second- and third-degree assault. He was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center.<\/p>\n
Police initially responded to the scene after receiving a 911 call at about 10:50 p.m. Monday, saying a woman had been assaulted. The release states that officers “ended up forcibly opening the door” at 1:06 a.m. Tuesday, and that they found Flint inside and arrested him.<\/p>\n
“A key was used to unlock the door. The door failed to open due to a deadbolt. An officer used his body – a shoulder lunge” to open the door, JPD Public Information Officer Erann Kalwara told the Empire via email.<\/p>\n
“JPD responded and contacted the woman and it was determined that Brody Flint had assaulted her,” the release states.<\/p>\n
A JPD officer took the woman to Bartlett Regional Hospital for a medical evaluation and care. Kalwara said that the woman has since been released from the hospital.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
