Mike Dunleavy&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/governor-proposes-cutting-almost-half-of-universitys-total-operating-budget\/\" target=\"_blank\">proposed budget <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/governor-proposes-cutting-almost-half-of-universitys-total-operating-budget\/\" target=\"_blank\">cuts<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><ins><a href=\"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/fund-our-future-students-protest-proposed-budget-cuts-to-university\/\" target=\"_blank\">[Students protest proposed budget cuts to university]<\/a><\/ins><\/p>\n<p>The University of Alaska is a public trust and an investment in the future of Alaska. We believe that cuts to its funding, if any, must be limited. The university drives Alaska&rsquo;s economy and is a valuable tool for improving the state&rsquo;s future.
