A Juneau grand jury handed down two indictments Thursday.<\/p>\n

In the first, the grand jury indicted Trevor Eli Tachell, 20, for second-degree escape. Tachell allegedly escaped from police custody on March 27, according to the indictment. According to information filed in the case file, Tachell was convicted of second-degree theft and fourth-degree assault in a 2016 case out of Ketchikan. He served time at Lemon Creek Correctional Center and was then sent to the Glacier Manor halfway house operated by Gastineau Human Services on March 9, according to court records.<\/p>\n

On March 27, according to the charging document, Tachell walked away from the halfway house and did not return. His whereabouts are still unknown, and an arrest warrant has been issued, according to court records. Second-degree escape is a class B felony.<\/p>\n

The grand jury also indicted William Travis McCann, 47, for third-degree assault. On May 31, 2018, the indictment alleges, McCann caused a physical injury to another man. That assault was paired with the fact that McCann had been convicted of two other crimes in the previous 10 years, according to the indictment. Third-degree assault is a class C felony.<\/p>\n
