for mountains,<\/p>\n

but never left the coast<\/p>\n

I left the shrill cry of the city<\/p>\n

for the quiet hum of colored night skies, <\/p>\n

swimming in an ocean of stars<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I swapped sun soaked days<\/p>\n

for fewer shadows<\/p>\n

and more coats<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I gave up late nights of smoke and talk<\/p>\n

for the suspense of early mornings, <\/p>\n

and mountains in bloom <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I switched crawfish <\/p>\n

for salmon,<\/p>\n

the pink flesh of supper<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I traded Louisiana beer for Alaskan Amber<\/p>\n

and I won\u2019t go back.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Here, is home.<\/p>\n

Here, I am. <\/p>\n
