Nageak also was the nephew of state Rep. Benjamin Nageak, a Barrow Democrat.<\/p>\n<p>Police said the incident occurred after officers were called to a home at about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, and children inside were evacuated, along with the person who made a 911 call to police.<\/p>\n<p>The officer, whose name is being withheld for 72 hours, was not injured.<\/p>\n<p>Alaska State Troopers have stepped in to investigate after the borough asked for their assistance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ANCHORAGE\u2014 North Slope Borough police say the officer involved in a fire official\u2019s fatal shooting in Barrow acted after the man pointed a shotgun at police.
