A Juneau man accused of murder pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in Juneau Superior Court on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t
Fenton L. Jacobs, 39, faces five felony charges in connection to the May 2 fatal stabbing<\/a> of fellow Juneauite Scott Campbell. Assistant Public Defender Eric Hedland entered a not guilty plea on Jacobs’ behalf in court Wednesday. Jacobs, who was present in court, didn’t speak during the hearing.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t Superior Court Judge Philip M. Pallenberg set a tentative trial date for 8:30 a.m. Aug. 5. Attorneys on hand estimated that the trial should last about two weeks.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t A grand jury indicted Jacobs on May 9 with one count of first-degree murder, two counts of second-degree murder and two counts of third-degree assault stemming from the incident, which occurred just after midnight May 2. Juneau Police Department officers were called to the intersection of Franklin and Front streets to respond to a fight, according to a JPD release<\/a>.<\/p>\n
