{"id":47966,"date":"2019-05-15T12:45:00","date_gmt":"2019-05-15T20:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/pedestrian-hospitalized-after-crash-at-auke-bay-roundabout\/"},"modified":"2019-05-16T12:17:44","modified_gmt":"2019-05-16T20:17:44","slug":"pedestrian-hospitalized-after-crash-at-auke-bay-roundabout","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/pedestrian-hospitalized-after-crash-at-auke-bay-roundabout\/","title":{"rendered":"Update: Pedestrian hospitalized after crash at Auke Bay roundabout"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A pedestrian was hospitalized Wednesday after a motor vehicle crash in Auke Bay, police said.<\/p>\n<p>According to a Juneau Police Department <a href=\"https:\/\/beta.juneau.org\/police\/jpd-psa-individual-view\/entry\/46110\" target=\"_blank\">release<\/a>, the crash happened just before 3 p.m. on Glacier Highway before the roundabout.<\/p>\n<p>Police said a 24-year-old man disembarked a Capital Transit bus that was driving outbound, and that he entered the street behind the bus, crossing in front of a blue Toyota Rav4 driving in the inbound lane that was operated by a 58-year-old woman.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;An Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities employee was working in the area and came to the injured man&rsquo;s aid,&rdquo; the release states. He didn&rsquo;t have any obvious signs of critical injuries and was alert, police said.
