{"id":48110,"date":"2019-05-18T07:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-05-18T15:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/free-event-will-teach-kids-how-to-fish\/"},"modified":"2019-05-18T11:18:09","modified_gmt":"2019-05-18T19:18:09","slug":"free-event-will-teach-kids-how-to-fish","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/free-event-will-teach-kids-how-to-fish\/","title":{"rendered":"Free event will teach kids how to fish"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Children can learn how to fish or practice their fishing skills at a free event next month.<\/p>\n<p>Family Fishing Day will take place 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, June 1 at Twin Lakes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/new-fishing-area-provides-access-honors-conservationists\/\" target=\"_blank\">[New fishing area provides wetlands access]<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Tongass National Forest, in partnership with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game and the Rotary Club, announced the event to provide experience and knowledge to help the beginning angler get started.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/friends-fishing-and-the-ones-that-got-away\/\" target=\"_blank\">[Friends, fishing and the ones that got away]<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and everyone should wear proper footwear and clothing. No experience is needed to participate.
