President Reagan brought it to our attention back in 1981 when we hit our first trillion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>I care more about my grandchildren than anything in this world. We have burdened them with an unsustainable debt.<\/p>\n<p>Today, I make a public apology to my grandchildren and all young children for the debt we have left them. I have attempted to make a difference but failed.<\/p>\n<p>As President Roosevelt expressed in 1933: we only follow the &ldquo;rules of a generation of self seekers,&rdquo; enjoying the pleasures of life while leaving our young children with our debt.<\/p>\n<p>I apologize to all young children, for my generation&rsquo;s behavior as &ldquo;self seekers.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Ray Southwell<\/p>\n<p>Nikiski<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We used to talk about our national debt.
