{"id":4977,"date":"2017-02-13T17:22:57","date_gmt":"2017-02-14T01:22:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spijue.wpengine.com\/news\/aware-announces-this-years-women-of-distinction-honorees\/"},"modified":"2017-02-13T17:22:57","modified_gmt":"2017-02-14T01:22:57","slug":"aware-announces-this-years-women-of-distinction-honorees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/aware-announces-this-years-women-of-distinction-honorees\/","title":{"rendered":"AWARE announces this year\u2019s Women of Distinction honorees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Juneau&rsquo;s women&rsquo;s shelter AWARE (Aiding Women in Abuse &amp; Rape Emergencies) has announced this year&rsquo;s Women of Distinction honorees.<\/p>\n<p>They are: Andrea Cesar, Sioux Douglas, Kris Sell and Rena Sims.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;AWARE, Inc., is delighted to honor four women whose contributions have enhanced the lives of women and children in Juneau,&rdquo; a release states.<\/p>\n<p>The four women will be honored at AWARE&rsquo;s 21st annual Women of Distinction fundraising gala, taking place March 4 at Centennial Hall.<\/p>\n<p>Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with music by Tom Locher, and a silent auction and no-host bar. The program begins at 7 p.m. with a plated dinner catered by SALT, and seven minute speeches from the honorees about what inspires them. A silent dessert auction will also be held.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets are $70 each or $800 for a reserved table of 10, and can be purchased on line at <a href=\"https:\/\/jahc.org\/?event=2017-women-of-distinction-gala\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/jahc.org\/?event=2017-women-of-distinction-gala<\/a>, or at AWARE.
