He was 82.<\/p>\n<p>He graduated from Texas A&amp;M University and spent two years on active duty with the U.S. Army. He worked for the Alaska Department of Transportation &amp; Public Facilities, and then later retired. His family said he was proud to be a professional engineer. <\/p>\n<p>He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Leslie; son, Doug and wife Ariel; and grandson, Doug Jr.<\/p>\n<p>At his request, no services are planned.
