Juneau up 42-12.<\/p>\n<p><strong>8 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Juneau and Antelope trade touchdowns in the opening two minutes of the second quarter.<\/p>\n<p>Antelope&rsquo;s Sam Martinez made a 3-yard rushing touchdown, but the Huskies answered back as Ali Beya scored to put Juneau up 27-12.<\/p>\n<p><strong>7:45 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Juneau Huskies furnished about 200 yards of offense in the first quarter, and lead 21-6. Junior Cooper Kriegmont has been the star on offense. Kriegmont made a 43-yard touchdown run on Juneau&rsquo;s opening drive, and then reeled in a 14-yard pass from Noah Chambers to go up 14-6 with 5:52 left.<\/p>\n<p>The Huskies scored a third touchdown minutes later on Ali Beya&rsquo;s 16-yard run.<\/p>\n<p><strong>6:50<\/strong> p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Fans are filing through the gates here at Adair-Kennedy Memorial Field as we near kickoff.<\/p>\n<p>Here&rsquo;s Juneau coach Rich Sjoroos on the excitement of his team.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/EwGT5UDHEAU\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>5:20 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Empire will be bringing you live coverage of tonight&rsquo;s high school football game between the Juneau Huskies and Antelope Rams.<\/p>\n<p>There&rsquo;s a lot of excitement riding on this game &mdash; for the players and fans. It&rsquo;s the Huskies&rsquo; home opener, and Juneau&rsquo;s first time seeing Rich Sjoroos on the sidelines again in six years. Sjoroos, a well-respected football coach at Juneau-Douglas High School, was hired in December to take over the second-year program.<\/p>\n<p>The Huskies are one of the local sports teams that draws players from both JDHS and Thunder Mountain. But unlike the tennis and wrestling teams, the football team isn&rsquo;t housed at either JDHS or TMHS (thus the unique mascot).<\/p>\n<p>For Antelope, visiting all the way from Arizona, it&rsquo;s a chance to play in a place they&rsquo;ve likely only seen on TV. Hailing from the small town of <a href=\"https:\/\/town.wellton.az.us\/about-wellton\/\" target=\"_blank\">Wellton<\/a>, located 30 miles east of Yuma, it will be the Rams&rsquo; first game of the season.<\/p>\n<p>According to MaxPreps.com, the Rams last year were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maxpreps.com\/list\/rankings.aspx?ranktype=statedivision&#038;schoolid=234f644e-2c61-4e71-9344-8247f327d4f9&#038;ssid=c3d47049-daf2-47e3-8a8e-1e4552d8a797&#038;statedivisionid=67cfdb0d-5058-4664-a227-959f4a2e037d\" target=\"_blank\">ranked No. 21 in the state for Division 2A<\/a>. It&rsquo;s a little surprising they weren&rsquo;t ranked higher after finishing the year 8-3 and outscoring opponents 384-162 (!).<\/p>\n<p>Tonight&rsquo;s game will be their season opener. Next week, they&rsquo;ll be in Pheonix playing against Cortez.
