{"id":52374,"date":"2019-08-27T10:45:00","date_gmt":"2019-08-27T18:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/coast-guard-medevacs-man-from-cruise-ship-near-douglas\/"},"modified":"2019-08-27T10:45:00","modified_gmt":"2019-08-27T18:45:00","slug":"coast-guard-medevacs-man-from-cruise-ship-near-douglas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/coast-guard-medevacs-man-from-cruise-ship-near-douglas\/","title":{"rendered":"Coast Guard medevacs man from cruise ship near Douglas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Coast Guardsmen from Station Juneau medevaced a man suffering from a possible bowel obstruction, from a cruise ship early Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>The station dispatched a 45-foot Response Boat- Medium in response to a 3 a.m. call requesting a medical evacuation from <em>Ovation of the Seas<\/em> near Douglas, the Coast Guard said in a press release.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The patient seemed to have minor discomfort but overall was in good condition when we transported him,&rdquo; said Petty Officer 3rd Class Seth Miller in a press release. The patient and his wife were evacuated without incident, according to the press release.<\/p>\n<p>This is the third cruise ship passenger the Coast Guard has evacuated at sea this month.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><b>\u2022 Contact reporter Michael S.
