{"id":54124,"date":"2019-10-10T09:30:00","date_gmt":"2019-10-10T17:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/insurance-agent-donates-fire-safety-kit-to-ccfr\/"},"modified":"2019-10-10T15:24:20","modified_gmt":"2019-10-10T23:24:20","slug":"insurance-agent-donates-fire-safety-kit-to-ccfr","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/insurance-agent-donates-fire-safety-kit-to-ccfr\/","title":{"rendered":"Insurance agent donates fire safety kit to CCFR"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Juneau State Farm insurance agent donated a fire prevention and safety kit to Capital City Fire\/Rescue on Wednesday for Fire Prevention Week.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;One life saved, one injury prevented, one house fire that doesn&rsquo;t happen, that&rsquo;s what we are all working toward with community education,&rdquo; insurance agent Robin Lonas said.<\/p>\n<p>The kits are intended for school children, and are designed to familiarize children and homeowners with exit strategies to minimize casualties in the event of a house fire. The National Fire Protection Association celebrates Fire Safety Month each October. The kit included a large fire safety banner as well as brochures, coloring books, pamphlets, stickers, and bags for about 150 kids, said Lonas. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;&ldquo;These kits are designed to help educate and inform the community, and I appreciate Fire Marshall Dan Jager for joining forces,&rdquo; Lonas said.<\/p>\n<p>To learn more about Fire Prevention Week, check <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nfpa.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">out the NFPA website.<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><b>\u2022 Contact reporter Michael S.
