{"id":5413,"date":"2016-03-27T08:12:20","date_gmt":"2016-03-27T15:12:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spijue.wpengine.com\/news\/angoon-claims-b-bracket-title\/"},"modified":"2016-03-27T08:12:20","modified_gmt":"2016-03-27T15:12:20","slug":"angoon-claims-b-bracket-title","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/sports\/angoon-claims-b-bracket-title\/","title":{"rendered":"Angoon claims B Bracket title"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The B Bracket hardware is heading to Angoon.<\/p>\n<p>Angoon defeated Hydaburg 102-86 on Saturday night during the 70th annual Gold Medal Basketball tournament at Juneau-Douglas High School to take the B Bracket title in a game featuring lots of scoring and physical play.<\/p>\n<p>Jonathan Jack Nixon led Angoon with 25 points, followed by Curtis Lane with 22, John Croesmun Jr. with 18 and Clayton Edwin scored 16.<\/p>\n<p>Hydaburg was led in defeat by Devin Edenshaw with 31, Darren Edenshaw with 25 and Vinny Edenshaw with 21.<\/p>\n<p>Angoon took an early lead and built its advantage to 54-38 at halftime thanks to a whopping 10 3-pointers in the first half, with four coming from Lane and three each from Nixon and Croesmun. <\/p>\n<p>Angoon pushed ahead further in the third quarter. The fourth quarter at times resembled a free throw shooting contest between the two teams, with Hydaburg shooting better from the charity stripe but it not being enough to overcome the sizeable deficit.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The B Bracket hardware is heading to Angoon.
