The Juneau Police Department is seeking a Juneau resident<\/a> in connection with an assault on a woman on Glacier Highway Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Micah Nelson, 28, is the subject of a $100,000 JPD warrant and wanted for questioning about the assault. Nelson is considered armed and dangerous, police said.<\/p>\n

JPD said in a release Wednesday that the woman went to a bank to make a deposit for work. While leaving the bank, she was followed by a man who was known to her. He was driving an older black Chevrolet pickup truck with an extended cab, police said.<\/p>\n

Police said he followed her vehicle, and when she pulled into a parking lot, Nelson got out of the truck and into her vehicle, armed with a handgun. Nelson refused to get out of her car, took the keys from the woman, and punched her repeatedly in the face and head while holding the handgun.<\/p>\n

Nelson then left the area in the black pickup. A witness to the events called 911 at roughly 2:22 p.m., police said, and the pickup was later found on Rainbow Row, which is located behind Glacier Valley Elementary School in the Mendenhall Valley.<\/p>\n

The woman suffered a large laceration to her forehead, but the injury was not considered life threatening. She was transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital by Capital City Fire\/Rescue.<\/p>\n

Police did not say what bank was involved.<\/p>\n
