Two Juneau-Douglas High School: Yadaat.at Kalé winter sports programs will play Fairbanks schools to start their respective seasons in the coming months.<\/p>\n

The Crimson Bears hockey team, which began practice this week, hosts Monroe Catholic High School in its season opener Nov. 15-16 at Treadwell Arena. The Crimson Bears girls basketball team, meanwhile, will host West Valley High School two other teams Dec. 27-29 for the Princess Cruises Capital City Classic at JDHS.<\/p>\n

The JDHS boys basketball team begins the season at the Jerry Tarkanian Classic Dec. 18-21 in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

Hockey’s home slate<\/strong><\/p>\n

Besides Monroe Catholic, JDHS will also bring to town Colony (Nov. 22-23), Kenai (Jan. 24-25) and Soldotna (Jan. 31-Feb. 1). The Crimson Bears hit the road twice in the regular season, playing against the Homer Mariners Dec. 6-7 and Houston and Palmer Jan. 15-18 in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley.<\/p>\n

Basketball’s home slate<\/strong><\/p>\n

The remainder of the JDHS girls’ home slate features matchups against Colony (Jan. 2), Bartlett (Jan. 3-4), Ketchikan (Jan. 24-25), Mt. Edgecumbe (Jan. 31-Feb. 1) and Thunder Mountain (Feb. 14-15). The JDHS boys will also host Thunder Mountain (Jan. 31-Feb. 1), Mt. Edgecumbe (Feb. 21-22) and Ketchikan (Feb. 28-March 1), in addition to Chugiak (Jan. 2).<\/p>\n
