Arne Ellefson-Carnes was quick to make a name for himself in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.<\/p>\n
The May 2019 graduate of Juneau-Douglas High School: Yadaat.at Kalé was named to the MIAC Honorable Mention All-Conference team in an announcement last Thursday by the conference office<\/a>.<\/p>\n Ellefson-Carnes was one of four Oles to appear on the MIAC All-Conference or Honorable Mention All-Conference teams. The MIAC Championship meet was Nov. 2 at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota. The top-15 finishers were named all-conference while the Nos. 16-25 finishers were named honorable mention all-conference.<\/p>\n Ellefson-Carnes finished 18th, completing the 8-kilometer course in of 26 minutes, 3.1 seconds, fourth overall on the Oles.<\/p>\n St. Olaf runs in the NCAA Division III Central Region Championships on Saturday in Waverly, Iowa.<\/p>\n JDHS to face five-time state champs today<\/strong><\/p>\n The JDHS volleyball team opens the ASAA 4A state championships today at the Alaska Airlines Center in Anchorage.<\/p>\n JDHS takes on South Anchorage of the Cook Inlet Conference at 10 a.m. in one of the two matches that kick-off the eight-team tournament.<\/p>\n Beside JDHS and South, the tournament field also features Bartlett and Dimond of the CIC, Wasilla, Palmer and Soldotna of the Northern Lights Conference and North Pole of the Mid-Alaska Conference. The Crimson Bears received the Southeast Conference’s lone berth to the 4A state tournament by winning the Region V championship on <\/a>Saturday<\/a>.<\/p>\n JDHS went 1-2 in its last state tournament appearance in 2017, posting a win over Wasilla in between losses to Soldotna and East Anchorage.
