{"id":56031,"date":"2019-12-02T10:45:00","date_gmt":"2019-12-02T19:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/energy-efficiency-nonprofits-to-hold-free-workshop\/"},"modified":"2019-12-02T10:45:00","modified_gmt":"2019-12-02T19:45:00","slug":"energy-efficiency-nonprofits-to-hold-free-workshop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/energy-efficiency-nonprofits-to-hold-free-workshop\/","title":{"rendered":"Energy efficiency nonprofits to hold free workshop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Local energy efficiency nonprofits will hold their annual heat pump workshop on Saturday, Dec. 7.<\/p>\n<p>Renewable Juneau will host its fourth annual Heat Pump Workshop at the University of Alaska Southeast Technical Education Center across from Juneau-Douglas High School from 2:30-4:30 p.m. A panel of experts will discuss the benefits of heat pumps in the home, which a press release from Renewable Juneau claims can save 40-70% on heating costs, as well as other improvements to environmental impact.<\/p>\n<p>Representatives will be present from Alaska Heat Smart, a joint nonprofit established between Renewable Juneau, Alaska Electric Light &#038; Power, the Southeast Building Industry Association, the Juneau Economic Development Council and the City and Borough of Juneau. Representatives will explain some of the cost-saving services the new organization provides.
