{"id":56216,"date":"2019-12-06T06:45:00","date_gmt":"2019-12-06T15:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/safeway-assault-suspect-indicted-on-three-counts-of-felony-assault\/"},"modified":"2019-12-06T06:45:00","modified_gmt":"2019-12-06T15:45:00","slug":"safeway-assault-suspect-indicted-on-three-counts-of-felony-assault","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/safeway-assault-suspect-indicted-on-three-counts-of-felony-assault\/","title":{"rendered":"Safeway assault suspect indicted on three counts of felony assault"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man who allegedly physically assaulted a woman in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/news\/juneau-police-name-officers-victim-involved-in-shooting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Safeway parking lot in August<\/a> has been indicted for three counts of felony assault.<\/p>\n<p>Christopher Ray Netling, 29, was indicted Thursday and is slated to be arraigned on Monday in Juneau Superior Court, according to charging court documents.<\/p>\n<p>Police say Netling was choking a woman in a vehicle in the grocery store&rsquo;s parking lot when he was confronted by Juneau Police Department officers Hannah Malone and Thomas McGrann, who were responding to a 911 call about the incident.<\/p>\n<p>The officers attempted to talk to then subdue Netling, but Netling allegedly armed himself with a knife, leading one of the officers to shoot him twice in the abdomen.
