{"id":5666,"date":"2018-04-28T21:10:00","date_gmt":"2018-04-29T04:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spijue.wpengine.com\/news\/thunder-mountain-claims-early-lead-wins-again-over-jdhs\/"},"modified":"2018-04-28T21:10:00","modified_gmt":"2018-04-29T04:10:00","slug":"thunder-mountain-claims-early-lead-wins-again-over-jdhs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.juneauempire.com\/sports\/thunder-mountain-claims-early-lead-wins-again-over-jdhs\/","title":{"rendered":"Thunder Mountain claims early lead, wins again over JDHS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thunder Mountain High School junior Nina Fenumiai hit a two-run home run and the Falcons defeated Juneau-Douglas High School 9-1 on Saturday afternoon at Dimond Park.<\/p>\n<p>JDHS committed costly errors in the bottom of the first inning when TMHS piled on five runs.<\/p>\n<p>The game remained a 5-1 affair for the next four innings as senior Leah Spargo pitched well in relief, allowing just five hits.<\/p>\n<p>However, the Crimson Bears couldn&rsquo;t generate enough hits of their own to get back into the game.<\/p>\n<p>Asianna Mazon led JDHS with two hits while Amanda VanSlyke, Skyler Hickok, Abby Meiners, Sophia Schauwecker and Spargo each contributed one hit.<\/p>\n<p>Nina and Tasi Fenumiai accounted for four and the eight hits by the Falcons.<\/p>\n<p>Kyra Jenkins Hayes pitched a complete game, allowing seven hits while striking out six.<\/p>\n<p>The Falcons improve to 5-3 overall and 4-0 in the Southeast Conference.
