Living in a rain forest<\/p>\n
you would think we would have<\/p>\n
more than one umbrella.<\/p>\n
No, we have seen first hand what<\/p>\n
a sloppy Southeaster does<\/p>\n
to cloth and a flimsy frame,<\/p>\n
turning it inside out, jerking<\/p>\n
it from our hand<\/p>\n
and tossing it into<\/p>\n
Gold Creek.<\/p>\n
We face the rain<\/p>\n
head on, cold, fresh<\/p>\n
and true.<\/p>\n
Our jeans are damp,<\/p>\n
our halibut jackets never<\/p>\n
free of the scent<\/p>\n
of wet wool<\/p>\n
and there’s talk<\/p>\n
our toes grow together.<\/p>\n
